Designing a website for a corporate purpose requires a much different approach from designing one for personal or shopping purposes. If the reasons behind this statement aren’t clear to you yet, read on and it should be by the time you are done reading this article.

Obviously, designing any kind of website requires a considerable amount of time and research. That being said, when it comes to corporate web design for your company, you first need to put a number of things like the theme (colour, layout, etc), logo designs, number of pages, and a host of other things into clear perspective. You need to know what you want the finished site should look like and what exactly it should do.

As far as corporate web design goes, it is a common conception among website designers that blue, grey, and/ or ‘light hearted’ colours are more suitable. This is because with corporate websites, companies are mostly trying to get the attention of customers from the word ‘Go’. That is, they want to make sure the first impression of the website captures the visitors’ attention as much as possible. This is unlike personal websites that are meant to convey more of who the owner is as well as their personality.

Most from web design or marketing experts would tell you that one of the other most important factors in corporate website design is the need to get the company’s goal across almost instantly. This is more like capturing the customer’s attention but is more on the branding side of things. That is, if your website is not reasonably branded and laid out properly enough – to make the visitor desire more – then you stand the chance of losing them almost instantly before you convey any message as to what the company is about and what it can do for the visitor.

Hence, keep in mind that corporate website designs should be treated much differently from personal or shopping sites. In short, the site needs to capture the visitor’s attention and get message across almost instantly.

A top ranking position on the Google search engine is the best approach for enhancing sales by increasing the inflow of traffic to the website. Attaining the top rank on Google has many more benefits, as it increases online visibility on the global platform.

There are many websites which had occupied top positions in Google search results but with the recent changes in Google search engine algorithm, the pages have suffered a steep setback and have incurred heavy loss of traffic, income and exposure. Online business is fast evolving and there is an increasing need to develop dynamic strategies in order to stay ahead of the cut throat competition in the virtual world.

Most websites that get to the top of the search engine results pages do so by generating high quality backlinks (amongst other things). So if you are looking for search engine optimisation by creating such backlinks then you need to consider various options like content syndication, creating backlinks by way of testimonials or through social bookmarking websites. The most popular method for creating high quality links to your website is by submitting articles to the article directories. There is a high level of probability, that your article will be published by various blogs and other websites. One can also create links to a website by adding them to forums and communities. It also helps to look for renowned authors and add your website link to their publishing sites.

There are many websites that offer testimonials on their products and services. So, when writing a testimonial on your favorite product, you can include a backlink to your website. If you go through the success stories of these websites, you will find high quality backlinks from testimonials and article directories. Social bookmarking sites also play an important role in generating links to a wide network of users on the internet. There are many book marking websites like Digg that offers fast indexing services by some of the major search engines available on the web. It is important to make sure that you include authentic content on the social bookmarking websites. There are many websites that have been banned on the social bookmarking sites for aggressively promoting their online business.

Blogs are becoming the norm in today’s website designs. And when you hear of blogs, there are more chances of it being based on WordPress blogging and content management platform than any all the others. This article will briefly explain WordPress itself, how it became so popular, and the plug-ins that makes it the favourite amongst web designers and website owners.

A Brief history: WordPress, as you already know it, is a blogging platform that has taken the world by storm ever since it was first released in 2003 by Matt Mullenweg. It is an open source Content Management System (CMS), often used as a blog publishing application, powered by PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system. Today, over 12% of the 1,000,000 biggest websites use WordPress design and that makes it the most popular CMS in use today.

The reason it became so popular today is the fact that it makes content management extremely easier compared to the traditional websites using HTML and CSS. That is, once installed (which is easy in itself), it is almost easy for anyone to update its contents as well as change the looks (using free or premium Themes) and feel of the site within minutes. All that is needed is to login and use the in-built text editor to add contents.

Aside from being able to update contents easier, WordPress also makes it easier for certain things to be done with a push of a button just by installing plug-ins. For example, with all the social media craze these days, every website owner wants their contents to be shared with the world (which means free traffic). To accomplish this, plug-ins such as ShareThis or OpenWire are used and once a visitor likes content, they can just click to share it with their friends on Facebook, Twitter, and what have you.

Basically, this is all there is to WordPress themes design: Website designers or owners visit WordPress.org, download and install the WordPress folder on the server. Then install all the necessary plug-ins (for SEO, social bookmarking, etc) and configure them. Once that is done, the website is ready to go and can now be easily designed to your requirements. In fact, there are plug-ins created to make WordPress blog update itself automatically without the need of human interaction.
